The FBISE Class 9,10 Mathematics curriculum, based on the National Book Foundation textbook, focuses on Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs). The 11 core chapters aim to develop algebraic manipulation skills, spatial reasoning in geometry, and data interpretation.
Course Outline
- Unit 1: Matrices and Determinants: Perform matrix operations, compute determinants, and solve linear equations.
- Unit 2: Real and Complex Numbers: Understand number properties, radicals, and the laws of exponents.
- Unit 3: Logarithms: Apply logarithmic laws to simplify complex calculations and use scientific notation.
- Unit 4: Algebraic Expressions and Algebraic Formulas: Manipulate polynomials, factorize, and evaluate algebraic formulas.
- Unit 5: Linear Equations and Inequalities: Solve linear equations and graph linear inequalities.
- Unit 6: Linear Graphs and Their Application: Plot graphs of linear equations and understand the Cartesian plane.
- Unit 7: Introduction to Coordinate Geometry: Calculate distances, midpoints, and gradients.
- Unit 8: Basic Concepts of Geometry: Understand theorems about congruent triangles and straight lines.
- Unit 9: Deductive Geometry: Prove and apply theorems regarding parallelograms, triangles, and angle bisectors.
- Unit 10: Deductive Geometry (Triangles): Prove congruency and evaluate the theorems of perpendicular bisectors and altitudes.
- Unit 11: Practical Geometry: Construct triangles, centers of triangles (incenter, circumcenter, etc.), and tangents to circles.
- Unit 12: Introduction to Trigonometry: Understand trigonometric ratios and fundamental identities.
- Unit 13: Information Handling: Interpret frequency distributions and calculate measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode).
