Sara_SiddiquiAbout this course
The Federal Board (FBISE) Grade 12 Chemistry curriculum is designed to shift students away from rote memorization toward a conceptual, Student Learning Outcome (SLO)-based approach.
Course Outline
The primary course objectives are divided into four core areas:
- Understanding Mechanisms: To comprehend the step-by-step reaction mechanisms of organic compounds, including nucleophilic substitutions (e.g., \(S_{N}1\), \(S_{N}2\)) and eliminations (E₁, E₂).
- Analytical Skills: To apply principles of quantitative and qualitative analysis, reaction kinetics, chemical equilibrium, and electrochemistry (e.g., pH control and buffer solutions).
- Biomolecular Knowledge: To identify the structural components and biological importance of macromolecules, including carbohydrates, proteins, and nucleic acids (DNA/RNA).
- Practical Competency: To bridge theory and practice through Practical Based Assessments (PBA), where students learn techniques like chromatography, qualitative functional group testing, and organic synthesis.
